Traditional Mexican food, seafood and vegetarian dishes with full bar and fair prices in a familiar atmosphere. A local neighborhood flavor takes form at Jazmin’s Restaurant.
Custom-made furniture and a mural of Pancho Villa set the tone for Mexican cuisine, along with the bamboo bar and yellow tablecloths. Owner Araceli Villafuerte has been in San Jose del Cabo for ten years offering inexpensive breakfast, lunch and dinner entrees.
Tucked behind the historic church of colonial San Jose del Cabo, Jazmin’s offers traditional Mexican dishes as well as seafood and vegetarian specialties.
Tucked behind the historic church of colonial San Jose del Cabo, Jazmin’s offers traditional Mexican dishes as well as seafood and vegetarian specialties. Upon entering you will find yourself engulfed by the revolutionary spirit, as you lend your ear to the beat of banda and Mariachi music playing in the background. Decorating the ceiling papel picado (colorful cut tissue paper) is a cheerful reminder of local traditional festivities, and fills the room with a joyful vibe.
You’ll almost feel the glances of historical heroes when you get comfy in one of the lush alcoves and corners of colorfully decorated Jazmin’s. Picture-studded, pink, yellow and blue walls, serve as a photo gallery taking you back to XIX-century Mexico with memories of Pancho Villa and his fellow fearless comrades of the revolution.
Open daily, 8 am–11pm; Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. American Express, MasterCard & VISA accepted.

The Bakery and Bistro has been a favorite for more than 15 years, this quaint bistro offers not only French cuisine but also a chance to experience French techniques with a Mexican twist. One such concoction is a traditional Mexican sope topped with refried beans, mushrooms, béchamel sauce, and a touch of chile. Another is a dish called tiradito, which consists of a fusion of yellowtail tuna sashimi and ceviche. The rib eye of Sonoran beef is cooked to perfection, served with mashed potatoes and veggies in hibiscus sauce.
And for dessert? There is an entire case of pastries, including a variety of macaroons, napoleons, crème brûlée, and dessert crepes. On any given day, the pastry chef may surprise you with a chocolate tube filled with mouse made of traditional Mexican cocoa with raspberries and mint. Drop by at teatime and indulge in an ice cream cocktail. Ask for the chef’s dinner special, or a tasting menu can be enjoyed for approximately $30 U.S. per person, and includes appetizer, main course, dessert and a glass of wine. Catering offered, including delivery service, especially for weddings. Live music during Art Walk on Thursday nights.

Nestled among galleries and studios in the heart of San José del Cabo’s historic Distrito del Arte, Mi Casa is an elegant showcase for Los Cabos-style local color and traditional Mexican specialty dishes. The restaurant’s picturesque and romantic courtyard dining area is in sync with neighborhood’s bohemian ambience, but the delicious menu offerings are a unique fusion of México’s culinary heritage and the artistic sensibilities of Alain Derouin, excecutive chef for Grupo Mi Casa (there is another Mi Casa restaurant in Cabo San Lucas, as well as acclaimed stand-alones like Café Canela, Peacock’s, and La Panga Antigua).
Begin your fine dining journey with beloved Baja starters like almejas rellenas (fire pit cooked queen clams stuffed with bacon, cheese, and veggies) and choriburro a machaca and chorizo-filled burrito, then progress to regional favorites like Pueblan Chile en Nogada and Mole Poblano, and that famed Yucatecan standard, Cochinita Pibil, before finishing with decadent meal cappers like a Mexican goat cheese tart baked with piloncillo and Damiana liqueur, and añejo tequila infused mango ice cream. And for the maximum Mi Casa experience, pair your multi-course meal with selections from the internationally representative wine list, including excellent options from Baja’s own wine country, Valle de Guadalupe outside Ensenada.
